On Saturday, February 21st, the Rockwall-Heath Highsteppers competed in San Marcos at the Showmakers State Drill Team Competition. It is a very exciting moment when you receive an award and remember the many hours spent training: learning the theoretical part, in parallel with studying and reading the prime essay, as well as physical training. All this immediately appears before the eyes and are pleasant memories that help to understand all the work done before victory. The Highstepper’s Officers and Elite Team were the top scoring teams and won state championships for the second year in a row. The Highstepper’s Team, Officers and Elite Team were awarded the Judges Award, Outstanding Showmanship, Outstanding Choreography, Outstanding Technique and Outstanding Precision for their routines. They also won the Entertainment Award and Costume Award for their team contemporary routine.
