Sweet Sports on Valentine’s Day

On February 14th, Varsity Tennis competed in the Arlington-Martin Varsity Tennis Tournament. You can read about tennis in the dissertation discussion chapter to have an understanding of this sport and the skills to be mastered. Bridger Myers won 1st place in the Boys ‘A’ Singles Division. Sam Fox & Blake Dwyer won 1st place in the Boys ‘A’ Doubles Division.

The Heath Wrestling Team had two students qualify for state the same day with one going as an alternate at the Region III Tournament in Katy.  The team finished 9th out of 65 teams.  The wrestlers that qualified are Jacob Glastad 160 lbs took 5th; Troy Mercer 180 lbs took  2nd;  Jay Arnold 215 lbs took  5th, won his wrestle back, and went on to state as 4th place finisher.   Way to go Hawks!
